Monarchs soccer doc taking off
Uncategorized / No Comments / July 12, 2010

soccer ball in hand muralThe director (Eugene Martin) and producers (Green Films) for “Anderson Monarchs” have garnered some serious interest in this project.  Within the last few months, the film (still in production) has received a Contemporary Issue Doc Grant from the Sundance Institute, and was also selected to participate in The Good Pitch @ Tribeca.

Having wrapped on all game footage back in Dec, Eugene and I are now shooting the girls’ stories and covering the aspects of their lives – family, school, future in the sport – that are being transformed through their participation in this little (but mighty!) South Philly soccer club.

Check out the trailer (produced by Green Films) and website!
